Research Interest:
In the last a few years, I have been working on numerical methods and
mathematical modeling of photonic structures, including optical
waveguides, photonic crystals and diffraction
gratings. Optical waveguides (such as optical fibers) are
structures that guide the propagation of light and they are the basic
building blocks of photonic integrated circuits . Photonic
crystals are
periodic structures with a period on the scale of the wavelength of
the light and they are being explored to design compact photonic
circuits. Efficient numerical methods are being developed based on the
the so-called Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps. Some information can be
found in my
research projects.
